Detangling the rat's nest!

I usually am not the one to find good hair products(I leave that to the expert in our family, Shawna), but I am so proud of myself for finding this product! I have super tangled up hair after the pool, ocean, or even after conditioning so I always need a detangler. I found this Suave with Keratin product that acts as a leave in conditioner while protecting the hair from heat(my straightener). The first time I tried it I thought I deserved to be flipping my hair on hair commercials! Seriously, it works that well! My hair feels silky, smooth and looks like I went to the salon. The best part... Wait for it.. It's only $2.50 at Walmart and $3.50 at Target! Summer and I went and bought bottles for all the sisters and our Mom. You should too!

face cleanser

I used to work for Clinique.  Although I hated every minute of retail, dealing with all the annoying and crazy customers was worth it, beacuse I learned so much about all the makeup and skincare lines. The best perk about working in the cosmetic retail industry was all the gratis the companies would give us...including face wash. I am extremely hard to please when it comes to face soap. It's either too drying, too moisturizing, makes me break out, makes me itch... you name it I've complained it, but i always give products a chance. Over the years I've experimented with Sisely, Clarins, La Mer, La Prarie, Kiehl's, Clinique, Mac, Lancome, Bobbi Brown, Shisedo, Trish McEvoy, Benefit, Laura Mercier, Christian Dior (the list can go on for days)... All of these lines have different products I can't live without; however, the winner of face wash for me goes to Kiehl's foaming non-detergent washable cleanser. I always fall back on this cleanser. It's my ride or die. Recently I ran out of my dependable beloved cleanser so naturally I went into bloomingdales to pick some up. They were out. So I went to a few Kiehl's free standing stores, they were sold out too. Then nordstrom... they were out also. After I hit every store in LA I accepted that it's discontinued. Although extremely reluctant I settled to try Kiehls ultra facial oil-free cleanser. I LOVE IT!!! It's creamy in texture and lathers so much! The packaging is amazing because the hole is so small that you won't accidentally squeeze out too much and waste it.  My face feels squeaky clean, yet not at all stripped of its natural oils essential for healthy skin. It's a new line for normal to oily skin types. The line also has oil-free moisturizers and toner that I have yet to try, but if they are anything like the face wash I will be one happy chick with a clean face!

Following close behind is philosophy purity. For normal to dry skin. Leaves the skin calm and moisturized. The smell is amazing. This is my mom's favorite.

And lastly the best drug store brand and best bargain is Kirk's original cocoa castile. Talk about squeaky clean!

Vegetarian Salad

I think all of us girls are the world's fastest cookers. If a meal takes longer then 20 minutes to prepare chances are we aren't making it. Since most of us are vegetarians it can be difficult to come up with different salads that have protein in them. Shawna made this salad for us last week and we were so stoked about it! I texted her the other day when I made it saying she changed my life by coming up this this. ha! Well maybe that's a little bit exaggerated, but it is definitely good! Even non vegetarians love it! These are the ingredients you need to make a our fav Mexican inspired salad!

Lettuce of course!

Put soy chorizo on the stove until it is warm. Put desired amount on salad.

Add pinto or black beans.

Top the salad off with Cilantro dressing from Trader Joe's. Also add sour cream and salsa if desired.

Easy and fast for the people who don't like cooking!

Auntie Love

We have been super busy this month being aunties so we apologize for not updating our blog lately. This past month has been unreal because our whole fam has been able to spend so much time together. We never want Richard, Autumn, and the girls to go back to New Zealand and we will be so sad when they leave in a week. The girls love their aunties and now when Carden gets in trouble by her mom she calls for us and we absolutely love it! Autumn and Richard are such great parents and we only hope one day we can be as great as them with our own kids. Nothing is better then being around our girls and we love them so much. Here are some pics of what we have been up too. I know we are a little bit obsessed with Carden and Eden, but they are just too cute for words!
